46 Pre-Chalcolithic J-M172 main sub-haplogroups


With the goal to simplify the grouping and assignation an analysis of the YFull YTree v9.03.00 J2 Scientific View was done in August 2021. See for comparison Basic Tree Subclades of 2015.
Criteria:

  • Pre-Chalcolithic (focus 7000-8000 BC), for L25 (ca. 7000 BC) because of importance/frequency main subgroups included
  • Amount of subclades/frequency influences younger age
  • smaller subgroups might be lumped into older groups or paragroups (xSNP)

Resulting 46 J-M172 Sub-Haplogroups are linked, older ancestor groups mentioned for hierarchical reasons.
If FamilyTreeDNA Y-DNA Haplotree uses another defining SNP name it is added like “,SNPname” or “/SNPname”.
If SNP names are divided by a “,” the first one is used in FamilyTreeDNA Y-DNA Haplotree and the second one in YFull YTree.
Should include almost all known J2 variation. The only missing diversity in YFull but present in FTDNA is under L581.
